One month ago, Paul Jewell stated after another disappointing defeat at Barnsley, "That's about as well as we've played this season. I'm disappointed that we lost but very pleased with the performance."

Rams Legend Bloomer is Honoured

Cradley Day is a heritage festival that takes place every two years in Cradley, West Midlands, where Bloomer was born - and RamsTrust was pleased to be invited again by the organisers for a third time to their event, which takes place on Saturday 4th October between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm at the Overend Methodist Mission Hall, Banners Lane, Cradley B63. Food and refreshments will be available.

It was a disgrace that media rights (or lack of them!) prevented the vast majority of England fans without a Setanta subscription - or being unable to go out to watch the game - from seeing England’s renaissance in Zagreb as they beat Croatia in the recent world Cup qualifier.

Rollercoaster bottoms out

The last few seasons have been a roller-coaster ride for Derby fans, with the past 12 months one the steepest downhill drops in the history of the club. A year ago Rams fans had a glimmer of hope that we could compete in the Premier League – or at least make a go of it, as Hull City seem to be doing now. Instead the team struggled, and when Paul Jewell took over the fans – and the players – were conditioned to believe they were not good enough for the top division. The panic purchase of a few former stars in January did little to improve the morale – or the team.
