Latest
Friday, September 23 2011

Sudbury HallSay goodbye to summer in style this weekend at BBC Radio Derby’s great annual community event! Derbyshire Day takes place at Sudbury Hall on Sunday 25th September (11.00 am - 4.00 pm); admission is free and a splendid family day out is promised. The weather forecast is promising - so make the most of your weekend!

This year’s event celebrates the 40th anniversary of Radio Derby and it’s also 40 years since the historic 17th century Sudbury Hall was opened to the public as a National Trust attraction.

Sunday promises ‘the best of the County’ at Sudbury Hall and so of course Derby County are represented too. The RamsTrust Rendezvous will be there to bring a flavour of football to the event amongst a wide variety of exhibitors from our great county.

Come and chat to us about the Rams’ resurgence so far this season and to celebrate the team’s famous victory at the City Ground last weekend!

We will have an exclusive offer of signed copies of a great new book, “A Derby County Miscellany” by Phil Matthews and Gareth Davis alongside many other Rams-related book, DVD and gift bargains.

Derbyshire Day boasts a wide range of attractions including local produce, wildlife and craft exhibitors - there’s everything from fruit and veg and brewing to wood-turning, bread, cakes, puddings and chocolates! There are wildlife workshops, auctioneers and caterers too.

National organisations are also represented, with the RSPB, Wildlife Trust, Women’s Institute and Fire and Rescue Services. There are children’s rides, refreshments and facilities - and also the splendour of Sudbury Hall itself and the Museum of Childhood (admission charges apply to the hall and museum).

Sudbury Hall is 6 miles east of Uttoxeter at the junction of A50 Derby to Stoke and A515 Ashbourne, at Derbyshire DE6 5HT; Infoline at: 01283 585305.
