The book is typical of Taschen - gorgeous, memorable photographs presented in a classic hardcover book which would grace any coffee table. It would make a great present - particularly if you know anyone who remembers the 70s and the great players of the era. The book focuses on Internationals - although there are some domestic photos - and particularly World Cups and European cups and the great stars of the time - Pele, Beckenbaur, Cruyff, Moore, Best, Charlton(s) etc. There are many photos of matches, but also pictures you won't have seen before of the players in training or at home. It serves as a fantastic memorial to the fashions of the time as well as the footballers.
Unfortunately (given that Derby were one of the most successful teams of the decade), there are only 2 references to the Rams - and one of those is George Best getting off the team coach outside the Baseball Ground! However, if you love your football - and hanker back for a more 'innocent age' - and the lifestyles of footballers of the time, then this is well worth a look.
