The RamsTrust board is deeply sorry to report the unexpected, untimely and sudden death of our webmaster, Steve Tickle in November at the age of 59.

Steve attended the inaugural public meeting of those interested in forming a trust in October 2002 and when it was resolved to form a supporters trust he immediately offered his services as webmaster and keeper of mailing lists.

Prior to 2002 Steve had been a weekly writer for well respected Derby County fan site RamZone with his 'Tickle Tackle' column offering his often quirky views on DCFC. He continued his writing for a few years after the formation of the trust but later devoted more time to his webmaster duties.

Steve was a perfectionist and deplored the use of sloppy English, poor grammar and spelling and had a particular dislike of poor punctuation. Many a person has submitted website articles to find that Steve had corrected them before publication.

For twelve years Steve was our webmaster, he never sought a seat on the board and as he worked shifts in more recent years he doubted he would have had the time due to his other interests.

When RamsTrust and Leicester City's Foxes Trust sought to form an alliance of trusts in the East Midlands, Steve set up a website which operated for a few years. He freely offered his help and experience to other trusts setting up their own websites.

Steve was a highly intelligent man with a keen interest in almost anything. He found aircraft, travel, amateur radio fascinating but always showed an interest in learning new snippets of information. He was also famous in the South Derbyshire area for being an afficionado of Bird's pork pies and 'elephant's foot' cream cakes and was a very regular customer of 'Andy's Fish Bar' in his locality.

We are all going to miss Steve very much in the future for his diligent upkeep of the RamsTrust website, for his assiduous meeting of visiting DCFC fans and trust members around the world and for his dry sense of humour.

Steve leaves two adult daughters and a 96 year old father and very many close friends and extended family members.

RIP Steve and thanks for all you did for RamsTrust.
