Governance

RamsTrust has been a long term member of both Supporters Direct and the Football Supporters Federation and are currently members of the Football Supporters Association (FSA) which was formed by the amalgamation of SD and the FSF.

This means that we adhere to the principles and governance requirements that all registered Trusts are expected to promote.

Supporters Direct had been working since 2000 to help supporters gain influence in the running and ownership of their club. During which time they helped and supported members to establish over 185 trusts in the UK and worked with supporters to purchase and develop more than 50 community owned clubs. They supported these members in raising more than £50 million to be reinvested back into their clubs and communities including £6 million through community shares projects.

The Football Supporters Federation had a long history of providing effective support for fans and were responsible for setting up the Fans’ Embassies at international games as well as campaigning for fan representation on clubs’ boards, lower ticket prices, and the introduction of safe standing areas at grounds in the top two tiers of English football.

Amalgamated now into the Football Supporters Association (FSA) the work of the two organisations continues under the FSA umbrella.

The FSA is the national, democratic, representative body for football supporters in England and Wales and are the leading national advocates for supporter ownership, better fan engagement, cheaper ticket prices, the choice to stand at the match, protecting fan rights, good governance, diversity, and all types of supporter empowerment.
