RamsTrust very much welcomes the government’s commitment to support the recommendations of the fan-led review, starting with the creation of an Independent Regulator of English Football (IREF). This would have helped prevent the position the Rams faced.

We are, however, disappointed that there is no timetable attached yet to implement these proposals through legislation, and no commitment to addressing the financial imbalance across the football pyramid.

These reforms are needed urgently to protect our football clubs up and down the country.

There is now an opportunity for our club to show the way to prevent the same issues from happening again and we are eager to discuss implementing some of these proposals sooner rather than later with our new owner.
