Lord Pendry Tables Question in House of Lords

Lord Pendry Tables Question in House of Lords

23 January 2022 rt2

Lord Pendry, who has been a member of RamsTrust since 2003, has tabled the following question to the government, and it is now published in the House of Lord Business paper.

“Lord Pendry to ask Her Majesty’s Government what discussions they have had about the future of Derby County Football Club; what assessment they have made, if any, of allegations of financial mismanagement at the club; and what assessment they have made of the impact, if any, on (1) players, (2) coaches, and (3) fans.”

Researcher at the House of Lords, Ioan Bishop tells us:

“Having followed the club for many decades, Lord Pendry has been distraught over recent events and the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the club’s future. Despite these difficulties, the unity from the fans and support from the wider footballing world has shown just how much Derby means to so many people.”

“The question will be read throughout the House and will be met with a response from the Government in due course. Lord Pendry will continue to his efforts to keep Derby County’s affairs on the government’s agenda and will promote their cause in the House of Lords wherever possible.”

Derby County was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former player and 1974/75 First Division title-winner, Henry Newton, who has died at the age of 82.

The thoughts of everyone at the club are with Henry’s family and friends at this difficult time. 🖤
