RamsTrust Annual General Meeting 2026 report
This year’s RamsTrust Annual General Meeting was held at Harrison’s Hub at Pride Park on 24th September 2026. We were delighted to welcome special guests Colin Gibson (hosting a live version of the Life After The Rams podcast), Jake Buxton (the subject of the podcast) and Derby County’s Chief Operating Officer Simon Carnall.
We welcomed both members and guests to the Hub for our, now customary, evening of football chat, quizzing and not forgetting of course the formal business of the AGM itself.
Simon Carnall very kindly accepted our request to open proceedings and also gave a valuable update on the club’s work within the community.

The quiz was another enjoyable affair, crafted expertly as he has done on numerous occasions by our outgoing board member and Vice-Chair Jim Coyle. The quiz was extremely competitive with many teams being in with a shout to win the £20 prize but the team to prevail (Julie, Annette, Nigel & Brian) won after a tie break with a score of 37 out of 40. Many congratulations!
The formal business of the AGM was conducted and our Chair Hilary Leam welcomed all attendees and outlined the work of RamsTrust throughout the past twelve months. The full report can be read here.

Treasurer Tim Gibbs guided members through the annual report and financial statement and these were formally approved by members. Paul Sturges then proceeded to lead us through the Board elections for this year. Hilary Leam and Steve Kitson were seeking re-election and Tom Bestwick election after being co-opted onto the board last year. All three candidates were duly elected for three year terms and their election statements can be viewed here together with the opportunity to view all Board members on our Board page.

Following a short break, Colin Gibson sat down with Jake Buxton to record a special, live version of Life After The Rams. As you would imagine Jake was a wonderful guest and provided a fascinating insight into his life and career (both pre and post his time as a professional) and had numerous anecdotes that we urge you to catch up on via the podcast which should be available shortly.

We would like to thank everyone for their time and generosity in attending the AGM which hugely contributed to a successful evening. The raffle raised around £140, all of which we have donated to Derby County Community Trust.
We were able to offer virtual attendance via a Zoom link to this year’s AGM but we didn’t have any members logging in via this method. If you tried to do this but were unsuccessful could you please let us know via membership@ramstrust.org.uk.
