RamsTrust welcomes the government’s proposals in its white paper to introduce a new football regulator. Plans will require sustainable business models, a new owners’ and directors’ test, a fairer distribution of wealth and that clubs are run in the long-term interests of fans.

Derby County fans know only too well how much this is needed after the turbulent few years we have experienced recently. Now we are in calmer waters, it is the best time to reflect and plan for how we will prevent this from ever happening to our club again.

Since he took over, David Clowes has been fully supportive of an open dialogue with fans. We look forward to working with the club and other supporters on the issues in the white paper.
