Supporters’ Charter Group (SCG) update
On October 27th at Pride Park, SCG met with ten senior DCFC officials, including owner David Clowes, CEO Stephen Pearce, Chief Operating Officer Simon Carnall and Chief Commercial Officer Dave Biggar. The meeting was attended by nine fan representatives from most of the Club’s main supporter groups, including RamsTrust and, for the first time, Rainbow Rams the recently formed LGBTQ+ fan group, as well as the Supporters’ Board.
The meeting agenda – put together by the supporter groups – generated an open and positive discussion across a range of topics encompassing the match-day experience, community and fan engagement, and football related matters. Specific topics covered included:
- Health and safety arrangements in the stadium
- Away ticket pricing and reselling
- The potential for a fan park or similar at Pride Park
- The Club’s interaction to date with the newly established Independent Football Regulator (IFR)
- Progress on the delivery of scheduled initiatives in the Club’s 2025/26 Fan Engagement Plan
- The possibility of strategic changes affecting sporting intelligence, talent acquisition and the Academy, following the recently announced departures of key individuals
The minutes of the meeting have been prepared and can be viewed here. At the meeting the Club also advised that with input from the Football Supporters’ Association it had drafted terms of reference for the SCG. These will fill a gap that has caused uncertainty over the distinction between the respective roles of the SCG and Supporters’ Board. The Club have asked that the draft terms of reference be circulated for comment to all members of the various supporter groups and as such we have made the draft available here. The IFR’s proposed principles require fan engagement to be collaborative and “two-way” and this consultation represents recognition of these principles by the Club. RamsTrust is keen to demonstrate the fans’ own commitment to the principles and as such, should you have any observations on the draft terms of reference, please do forward them to membership@ramstrust.org.uk. We will factor your thoughts into the Trust’s response.
